Sono stati modificati geneticamente dei batteri <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Escherichia coli<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, inserendo nel loro DNA il gene della GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein), una proteina che si trova in natura nella medusa <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aequorea victoria<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Grazie a questa modifica, i batteri hanno iniziato a produrre la proteina fluorescente: illuminati con luce ultravioletta, brillando di un verde intenso, come si pu\u00f2 vedere nelle
