Artists in Rome

As part of their art lessons, the 3rd grade class visited the exhibition ‘Women artists in Rome’ at Villa Torlonia. More than 100 works by female artists, including paintings, sculptures and photographs, from the mid-19th century to the 1920s were on display. Pupils did not just look at the works, but also engaged with them from an artistic point of view. They drew individual extracts or entire works in their sketchbooks. The exhibition also inspired the class for their final visual arts project.
