Maturareise 2023
This year’s Maturareise took place in Lisbon. We chose this city a long time ago and we never regretted our choice. We were accompanied by Mrs. Manigold and Madame Rolland, and we couldn’t have chosen better company. Our program was very full, so there was never a moment of boredom. Right from the start we were lucky to be able to join the Saint Antonio Festival with the Portuguese and we were overwhelmed by the beautiful parade. On Tuesday we visited the center of Lisbon, which includes Bairro Altro, Baixa, Elevador of Santa Justa, Castelo de Sao Jorge, etc. On the following days we also got to explore some cities nearby Lisbon – Sintra and Cascais. In Sintra we visited the Sintra Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. We were also able to reach Cabo da Roca, which is the most westerly point of mainland Europe and some of us saw the Atlantic Ocean for the first time. On Thursday we visited Mosteiro de Jerominos and saw Torre de Belem. On our last full day we took a train to Cascais and spent our day at the beach. Only a few unlucky ones got sunburned.
Our Maturareise was very fun, entertaining, full of adventures, and overall we would all relive it a hundred more times. Our class is now more united than ever and we were all very sad to have to leave the beautiful city of Lisbon.
We want to thank our amazing teachers for helping us raise money, for preparing the whole program and especially for their patience, as it must have not been easy to have to bear with us for the whole trip. So in the name of the 4th liceo, OBRIGADOS!
